We are proud to announce that we managed to maintain a constant number of attendees throughout all our meetings so far: a rotating panel of three, with one new member at a time! At this rate, we will outgrow the capacity of the grad club in just a few years.
This time around, we chatted about all sorts of open-source projects, including:
- Open-source hardware projects: RepRap, OpenMoko, OpenPilot Flight Hardware, and The BUG. It’s a shame we missed Arduino, the Beagle Board, and the Panda Board.
- Alternative firmware for consumer wireless routers: dd-wrt and openwrt.
We also decided to set a topic of discussion for our next meeting, and to open suggestions for that topic on the mailing list. Next meeting is tentatively scheduled at May 17 7:00pm in the Grad Club.
We would like to use this opportunity to invite anyone in Kingston, Ontario with however slight interest in open-source software or hardware to join the discussion by subscribing to the mailing list (Google group).
